The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) Mobile Food Pantry is on-site at DART Central Station every Thursday and is accessible by transit at Merle Hay Mall on Tuesdays.

contemporary artist Sheena Rose for the 6th Avenue Corridor Bus Shelter public art project.
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is expanding its network of bus shelters and incorporating public art into their design with the help of a funding partnership with Bravo Greater Des Moines and a statewide call for artists issued by the Iowa Arts Council.
After May 3, 2021, DART will begin removing chains and signs blocking seats on all of its buses and inside the DART Central Station lobby to allow for more flexibility in social distancing.
DART has installed two new bus shelters along University Avenue that feature artwork commissioned by Drake University. The artwork by artists and Iowa natives Mollie Wallace and Dana Harrison features campus and neighborhood inspired designs made possible by the University through the generosity of Wells Fargo.
